Blog
Okay yea, this blog, which is supposed to be about living in Costa Rica has lately turned into a Max blog. Can I help it if I'm obsessed with this kid? No worries though, have patience and someday I will catch up with Costa Rica posts. Still no computer though : ( so it may be a while.

An Ant Story
The ants our here are EVERYWHERE. There are these teeny tiny ants that just live in your house (or all the ones I've been to anyway) in random places. You can't leave any food or crubms out anywhere or they will find it. As long as they are not in the food I don't mind them, I just let them be, I usually don't even notice them.
There is another type, I belive they are called cutter ants and they are crazy. We saw a trail of them in the park. They were carrying leaves from this tree clear across the way to their hole.

Making friends
Little girls love Max. I think most little boys are too cool to play with babies or play too rough, but little girls love to help him down the slide or push him in the swing or whatever. It's cute. This was at a park in Tilaran.
Hitchhiker thumb
One day we tried to hitchhike to town from Tilawa (unsuccessfully, we ended up taking the bus) and ever since then Max doesn this whenever he sees a truck drive by

Max stories
Because I know how the grandparents enjoy it :)
Make says "broke-it" when something is broken and "frake-it" means fix it, heh
When he wants you to hold something he says "take it" in his most strained voice, while propping it up with his chest like it is so heavy, even if it is just a banana or something small.
One day everyone was ready to go and I was the last one in the truck so everyone started yelling "Christina!" After that day Max would randomly yell "estina!" to people even if I was holding him, I'm not sure what he thought it meant. Now he occasionally calls me Christina.
Once in a while he hears me call Ivan "babe" he also decides to call him babe, for example "going beb?" (where are you going babe)
I love that he's actually started singing, it's the cutest thing ever!
He used to be great at sharing, but now when daddy ask for a bite of his treat he says no and offers him a cracker or whatever else he can see close by as if to say, you can have that instead.
He used to say "yup" to everything, but now everything is "no!" Even if he does want it he says no out of habit then quickly changes to yes.
When I tell him to say "Buenas dias" he says "hola dias" :)
Poor kid has been attacked by ants 3 times now and those suckers HURT, they leave a little red welt. Now everytime Max feels an itch, pinch, or bite (usually mosquito) he says "ormiga!"
